Cappella Maggiore

Cappella Maggiore is situated in the north-east of Treviso Province, on the southern hillside of the Cansiglio Forest.
Its origins are very ancient; the first settlements date back to the 10th century when several tribes of Veneti, an ancient indo-european population, and Celts lived in that area.

The International Exhibition of Illustration for Children collects a wide range of illustrations for children coming from different cultures and aims to promote the importance and worth of this artistic expression.
The exposition takes place every year from the end of October to December in Sarmede (TV) in the Palazzo Municipale while the town turns into “the Fairy tales’ town”.

Conegliano, known as the Pearl of Veneto, is situated between mountain and plain. It has always been a passage point and therefore a strategic site. For centuries it was known in Italy and in the World thanks to its famous painter Gian Battista Cima (1459-1518), moreover for the First Enological School in Italy (founded in 1876) and for the Prosecco DOC wine of its hills.
In the historical centre, the heart of the city is the ancient Via XX September (Contrada Granda) with the characteristic Piazza Cima.
